Section 19
Press Registrar
(1) The Government of Nepal shall appoint a Press Registrar for the purpose of keeping records of all the details of newspapers published from Nepal.
(2) The work, duties and powers of the Press Registrar appointed under sub-section (1) shall be as follows:-
(a) To give approval to give permanent certificate of newspaper according to section 7,
(b) To take all the details of the newspapers registered in accordance with section 7 with the local authorities and keep records thereof,
(c) Keep up-to-date records by taking information from the local authority regarding changes in the name, language, type, period of publication, place of publication etc. of the newspaper,
(d) To prepare and publish an annual report on the name, type, period of publication, language etc. of newspapers published in Nepal ………..
(e) To advise the Government of Nepal regarding the facilities to be given to newspapers (f) If someone requests details in relation to a newspaper for the purpose of advertising in a newspaper, he shall provide the details by charging the prescribed fee,
(g) Perform other duties prescribed by the Press Registrar in accordance with this Act or other prevailing laws.
(3) Other arrangements related to the Press Registrar shall be as prescribed.
